Jenks / Tulsa Bridge
Jenks / Tulsa Bridge:
I support the bridge, but I do not support the current plan for the bridge. Jenks, Bixby, and south Tulsa are among the fastest growing areas in our state. I think we need to take full advantage of the river area and develop it fully. However, if we don't do this right, I'm afraid it will be many years before we can get it corrected.
I think it is crucial for all the players; City of Tulsa, City of Jenks, City of Bixby, and Tulsa County officials, as well as state officials, to develop a complete plan for this project. The infrastructure needs for the traffic must be addressed to make sure safety for the area is not compromised. Public use, utility services, access, land use restrictions, and other issues, must be addressed before money is spent and concrete is poured.
I am especially concerned with thousands of cars traveling through an already congested area in front of our schools. Some have told me this is a problem for the Jenks School. If that is the case, Jenks School needs to be involved in these planning discussions as well. We must be mindful of the safety of our children, and keep that a priority above making money.
Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to discuss this further.

Sharon,
Thank you for your call. Yes I am very concerned with saving time for an ambulance patient. That is specifically why I say we must develop a plan with the entire area and infrastructure needs in mind. If an ambulance gets bottle-necked on a narrow road during rush-hour, nothing has been accomplished.
Please call me again if you have more questions.
Thank you,
Jeff
