My goal, as your State Representative, is to be a good steward of the people's money. I don't accept the term "Government Money". I will work to re-educate the state officials that every dollar in the Oklahoma Budget came from the pocket of a hard-working Oklahoma citizen!

I look forward to the opportunity to discuss this and the many issues we face.

Thank you for your support,

As I have visited with people throughout Oklahoma House District 69, I have received several comments and questions about the recent Oklahoma Tax Rebate checks of $45 or $90. The main issue, as you can imagine, is why do I now have to claim this rebate on my federal tax return. Simply put, since the total of the previous year's Oklahoma taxes were claimed when we filed our federal tax return for that year, we now have to include this rebate on our current federal tax return.

Rather than offering future rebates in this manner, I will work to bring meaningful tax reductions to the citizens of Oklahoma. I know you work hard for your money, and I will work just as hard to make sure you can keep "Your Money"!

My plans for my first tax reduction bill is to eliminate Oklahoma income tax on the first 20 hours of over-time or second, "moonlighting", job. I believe individuals work over-time to either meet production goals of their employer or meet the needs of their family. I have worked over-time, and have worked with many people who work over-time on a regular basis. We have all heard comments, or experienced for ourselves, how after taxes, we don't realize any benefit for working over-time. I want to remove this "dis-incentive" for your efforts. If you make the sacrifice to work extra hours to better your family or meet the goals of your employer, I want you to reap the rewards of your effort and keep "Your Money".
